Shipping from China to Guatemala

We're a Chinese freight forwarder operating from the origin, where your goods are made and loaded. Guatemala is Central America's largest economy and a growing import market, with ports on the Pacific and the Atlantic. We handle your shipment end to end —transport, documentation and customs—, with the prices you only get by working from the origin itself.

Why work with a forwarder at origin

Better price, no middlemen

You work with the people at the port of departure in China, not a middleman in Guatemala that subcontracts. Fewer links, better price.

Pacific and Atlantic

Guatemala has ports on both oceans: Puerto Quetzal on the Pacific and Santo Tomás de Castilla / Puerto Barrios on the Atlantic. We choose the one that connects best with your destination and the route from China.

Control from the factory

We're where your goods are made and loaded: we coordinate pickup, consolidation and shipping from the very first metre.

We assist you in Spanish

We work in writing and assist you in Spanish, as well as English, the common standard in international shipping. Every detail stays clear and documented, no language barrier with the origin.

Entry ports in Guatemala

The best point depends on where your final destination is and the route from China. Puerto Quetzal dominates the Pacific; Santo Tomás de Castilla serves the Atlantic. We pick what connects best.

Puerto Quetzal (Pacific)

Guatemala's main Pacific port, the most direct entry for cargo from Asia and the connection with the capital and the highlands.

Santo Tomás de Castilla (Atlantic)

The great Guatemalan Caribbean port, the gateway to the Atlantic and the connection with the east of the country.

Puerto Barrios (Atlantic)

A port near Santo Tomás, also on the Caribbean, useful depending on the service and cargo type.

Free zones (ZDEEP)

Economic development zones for storage and re-export with tax advantages, useful for regional distribution operations.

We also operate with other Guatemalan points: Guatemala City (airport GUA) · Puerto Quetzal · Santo Tomás de Castilla

Transit times and transport modes

Sea · 30–40 days

The most cost-effective option. FCL (full container) or LCL (groupage) depending on your volume, to Puerto Quetzal (Pacific) or Santo Tomás (Atlantic).

Air · 6–10 days

For urgent or high-value cargo, via Guatemala City (GUA). Fast and tracked in real time.

Door to door (DDP)

We handle everything, including import duties and VAT, and deliver to your address. You just receive the goods.

Customs and taxes when importing into Guatemala

We take care of clearance. Guatemalan customs is run by the SAT (Superintendency of Tax Administration). The country has no FTA with China, so duty applies according to the product. On imports you pay 12% VAT, calculated on the customs value plus duty. Guatemala is part of the Central American tariff system, with a common external tariff for much of the tariff schedule. We classify the goods correctly and coordinate clearance at destination, so your cargo enters without surprises.

How it works, step by step

  1. We collect at the factory in China and review the paperwork.
  2. Export clearance at origin and loading via the best Chinese port.
  3. International transport (sea or air) with tracking.
  4. Import clearance in Guatemala: duty, VAT and SAT formalities.
  5. Final delivery to your warehouse or address, anywhere in the country.
