Shipping from China to New Zealand

We're a Chinese freight forwarder operating from the origin, where your goods are made and loaded. New Zealand was the first developed country to sign a free trade agreement with China: virtually all cargo enters at zero duty. We handle your shipment end to end —sea or air transport, documentation, biosecurity and customs—, with the prices you only get by working from the origin itself.

Why work with a forwarder at origin

Better price, no middlemen

You work with the people at the port of departure in China, not a middleman in New Zealand that subcontracts. Fewer links, better price.

We leverage the China-New Zealand FTA

With the agreement (from 2008, upgraded in 2022), virtually all Chinese cargo enters at zero duty. With the right certificate of origin, we make sure you pay as little as possible.

Biosecurity without surprises

New Zealand is one of the world's strictest countries on biosecurity (MPI controls). Wood packaging must meet the ISPM-15 standard and many products require controls. We prepare everything so your cargo isn't held.

We assist you in English

We work in writing and keep everything documented in English, the common standard in international shipping, and in Spanish when you need it. No language barrier with the origin.

Ports and entry points in New Zealand

The best point depends on where your final destination in New Zealand is and how urgent it is. Auckland and Tauranga dominate the North Island; Lyttelton serves the South Island. We pick what connects best.

Auckland

The country's largest urban port, on the North Island, the main gateway for New Zealand's biggest population and consumption area.

Tauranga

The country's largest container port by volume, on the North Island, a great import and export hub with excellent connections.

Lyttelton (Christchurch)

The main South Island port, next to Christchurch, the natural entry for the whole south of the country.

Wellington

The capital's port, on the strait between the two islands, useful for the central area and as a link between both.

We also operate with other New Zealand points: Auckland (airport AKL) · Christchurch (CHC) · Napier · Wellington (WLG)

Transit times and transport modes

Sea · 18–28 days

The most cost-effective option. FCL (full container) or LCL (groupage) depending on your volume, to Auckland or Tauranga (North Island) or Lyttelton (South Island).

Air · 4–7 days

For urgent or high-value cargo, via Auckland (AKL) or Christchurch (CHC). Much faster than sea.

Express

For samples and small shipments, door-to-door courier with competitive lead times.

Customs, biosecurity and taxes when importing into New Zealand

We take care of clearance. New Zealand and China share a Free Trade Agreement (from 2008, upgraded in 2022): with the certificate of origin, virtually all Chinese cargo enters at zero duty. The point to watch is biosecurity: New Zealand is one of the world's strictest countries, with controls by the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI), and wood packaging must meet the ISPM-15 standard. What is always paid is the 15% GST, calculated on the customs value plus duty and freight. We make sure of the certificate of origin, compliant packaging and coordinate clearance at destination, so your cargo enters without surprises.

How it works, step by step

  1. We collect at the factory in China and prepare the paperwork, including the certificate of origin and ISPM-15 packaging.
  2. Export clearance at origin and loading via the best port or airport.
  3. International transport (sea or air) with tracking.
  4. Import clearance and biosecurity in New Zealand: duty (zero with the FTA), GST and MPI controls.
  5. Final delivery to your warehouse or address, on both islands.
