Shipping from China to Japan

We're a Chinese freight forwarder operating from the origin, where your goods are made and loaded. Japan is a step away from China: transit times are among the fastest in the world. We handle your shipment end to end —sea or air transport, documentation and customs—, with the prices you only get by working from the origin itself.

Why work with a forwarder at origin

Better price, no middlemen

You work with the people at the port of departure in China, not a middleman in Japan that subcontracts. Fewer links, better price.

Proximity: very fast transits

Japan is very close to China. By sea it's a few days, by air a matter of hours. Speed that's hard to match on any other route.

We leverage RCEP

RCEP is the first-ever trade agreement between China and Japan: it lowers tariffs progressively. We make sure your shipment carries the right certificate of origin so you pay as little as possible.

Rigour for a demanding market

Japan is very strict on standards, labelling and quality. We work in writing and keep everything documented, in English by default and in Spanish when you need it, so every detail is clear.

Ports and entry points in Japan

The best point depends on where your final destination in Japan is and how urgent it is. Tokyo Bay concentrates the great eastern trade; Kansai (Osaka-Kobe) serves the west. We pick what connects best.

Tokyo

One of Japan's largest ports, at the heart of the country's most populated region. The main entry for the east and the Tokyo metropolitan area.

Yokohama

Large deep-water port next to Tokyo, with direct services from China and excellent connection to eastern industry.

Kobe and Osaka

The ports of the Kansai region, the natural gateway for western Japan (Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya). Ideal if your destination is in that area.

Nagoya

A first-rate industrial port, the core of the Japanese automotive and manufacturing sector. Very well connected with China.

We also operate with other Japanese points: Tokyo (airport Narita NRT · Haneda HND) · Osaka (Kansai KIX) · Hakata · Shimizu

Transit times and transport modes

Sea · 2–7 days

The most cost-effective option and very fast thanks to proximity. FCL (full container) or LCL (groupage) depending on your volume, to the major ports of Tokyo Bay or Kansai.

Air · 1–3 days

For urgent or high-value cargo, via Narita (NRT), Haneda (HND) or Kansai (KIX). Extremely fast thanks to proximity.

Express

For samples and small shipments, door-to-door courier in just a few days.

Customs and taxes when importing into Japan

We take care of clearance. Japan and China share RCEP, the first-ever trade agreement between the two countries: with the relevant certificate of origin, much Chinese cargo sees its duty progressively reduced. What is always paid is the consumption tax of 10%, calculated on the customs value plus duty. Japan is a market that's very demanding on standards, labelling and certifications (JIS standards, PSE electrical safety, food sanitation), so the paperwork should be well prepared. Clearance is processed with Japan Customs. We make sure to leverage RCEP and coordinate clearance at destination, so your cargo enters without surprises.

How it works, step by step

  1. We collect at the factory in China and prepare the paperwork, including the certificate of origin.
  2. Export clearance at origin and loading via the best port or airport.
  3. International transport (sea or air) with tracking.
  4. Import clearance in Japan: duty (reduced with RCEP), consumption tax and formalities.
  5. Final delivery to your warehouse or address, anywhere in the country.
